Carson City currently requires Range Safety Officers (RSO) on the range when it is open to the public.  These individuals have volunteered their time to help operate the Carson City Rifle and Pistol Range.

In addition to certification by the National Rifle Association, Club volunteer Range Safety Officers receive additional training for operating the Carson City Rifle and Pistol Range for the public.  This training includes education on the specifics of the range, additional guidance and policy from Carson City Parks and Recreation Division, management of incidents, and are authorized by the city to enforce range rules.

Volunteer RSOs are provided by the club under it's "use agreement" with the Carson City Parks and Recreation Division. Their role is to educate users about the rules for using the range and help ensure the Carson City Rifle and Pistol Range is a safe environment for visitors.

Do you spend a lot of time at the Carson Rifle & Pistol Range? Do you want to help educate the public about range safety and keep this facility safe for all users? If so and you are a current NRA RSO – drop us an email at info@carsonrapc.org letting us know you would like to help and join the Volunteer RSO Team.
