Overview of CRPC events
High Power Rifle
- 100 yard rifle match. Course of fire is 50 shots in four stages, from standing, sitting/kneeling and prone positions, in slow and rapid fire. Suitable for AR15 and certain other types of rifle- see match description/rules. Matches are held several times between March and December.
Vintage Military Rifle
- Same course of fire as High Power Rifle. Suitable for Military rifles in service prior to AR15. Matches are held several times between March and December.
3×300 Rifle
- 300 yard rifle match. Course of fire is 45 shots in three stages, from either prone position or bench, slow fire. Suitable for most centerfire rifles, either iron-sighted or scoped. see match description/rules. Matches are held monthly, March – December.
Mini-Palma Rifle
- 100 yard rimfire rifle match. Course of fire is 45 shots in three stages, from either prone position or bench, slow fire. Suitable for most 22LR rifles, either iron-sighted or scoped. Matches are held monthly, March – December.
Bullseye Pistol
- 25 yard pistol match. Course of fire is 30 shots in three stages, slow and rapid fire, using either 1-hand or 2-hand hold. Suitable for most rimfire or centerfire handguns. Matches are held monthly, March – December.
2022 Match Requirements and Instructions
High Power Rifle – On the second Saturday of the month, June through October.
Match fees- Currently, $15, plus $5 for score reporting.
Required equipment:
- AR-15 rifle w/ A1-A2 sights or scope of maximum power of 4.5x, and trigger of 4.5 lb. (Service Rifle class) or any AR-15 rifle compliant with NRA/CMP service rifle guidelines.
- or- AR-15 rifle w/ match iron sights, optical sight of greater than 4.5x or otherwise compliant with the NRA match rifle guidelines. (Match Rifle class)
- 58 rounds of ammunition
- Sling for rifle
- Two magazines
Optional equipment:
- Shooting mat
- Shooting jacket and glove
- Single-round loading device
- Cell phone or tablet capable of wi-fi connectivity*
The High-Power Rifle matches in June through October are NRA-approved matches, and shooters have the option of their scores being reported to the NRA.

Match fees- Currently, $15.
Required Equipment:
- M14/M1a (Service Rifle class)
- or- M1 Garand (Service Rifle class)
- or- M1903 (Service Rifle class)
- or- any military-type rifle except AR-15 (examples: Enfield, Mauser, Moisin-Nagant, etc.)
- or- any repeating rifle capable of rapid reloading via magazine or stripper clips, w/ iron sights.
- 58 rounds of ammunition
- Sling for rifle
- Two magazines or stripper clips

- Single-round loading device
- Cell phone or tablet capable of wi-fi connectivity*
Course of Fire- High Power Rifle and Vintage Military Rifle matches- 100 yards, 4 stages.
- Slow Fire Offhand- 2 sighters plus 10 shots for record in 12 minutes. Shooting is done from standing position and all shots are loaded singly.
- Rapid Fire Sitting- 2 sighters in 2 minutes, then 10 shots for record in 60 seconds from sitting position. Mandatory magazine change- either 5 + 5 or 2 + 8 shots.
- Rapid Fire Prone- 2 sighters in 2 minutes, then 10 shots for record in 70 seconds from prone position. Mandatory magazine change- either 5 + 5 or 2 + 8 shots.
- Slow Fire Prone- 2 sighters plus 20 shots for record in 22 minutes. Shooting is done from prone position and all shots are singly loaded.
Sighter shots are shot from same position as record shots unless separate sighter target is used.
Mini-Palma Rifle – Generally, First Saturday of the month, March through December, 8am.
Match fees- $15 all dates.
Required equipment:
- Any 22LR rimfire rifle capable of precision fire at 100 yards. May be iron-sighted w/ sling (iron sight class) OR scoped w/ sling (scope class) OR scoped using a bipod and rear bag (FT-R class) OR any scoped rifle using any kind of rest, front and rear, including 1-piece rests (open class).
- Approximately 60 rounds of ammunition, 22LR caliber.
Optional equipment:
- Spotting scope (strongly suggested)
- Shooting mat
Course of Fire- Mini-Palma Rifle matches- 100 yards, 3 stages.
- Unlimited sighters plus 15 shots for record in 20 minutes in first stage. Second and third stages consist of 2 sighters plus 15 shots for record in 17 minutes per stage. Shooting in iron sight, scope and open-prone classes is done from prone position using either sling (iron sight or scope class) or front and rear rest (open-prone class). Shooting in open-bench and FT-R classes is done from bench, although FT-R has the option of using the prone position. All ammunition must be singly loaded.
3×300 Rifle – Generally, First Saturday of the month, March through December, approx. 10am.
Match fees- $15 all dates, or $10 if shooter has participated in Mini-Palma Rifle match held earlier that day.
Required equipment:
- Any centerfire rifle capable of precision fire at 300 yards. May be iron-sighted w/ sling (iron sight class) OR scoped w/ sling (scope class) OR scoped using a bipod and rear bag (FT-R class) OR any scoped rifle using any kind of rest, front and rear, including 1-piece rests (open class).
- At least 51 rounds of ammunition.
Optional equipment:
- Shooting mat
- Cell phone or tablet capable of wi-fi connectivity*
Course of Fire- Mini-Palma Rifle matches- 300 yards, 3 stages.
- All stages consist of 2 sighters plus 15 shots for record in 17 minutes per stage. Shooting in iron sight, scope and open-prone classes is done from prone position using either sling (iron sight or scope class) or front and rear rest (open-prone class). Shooting in open-bench and FT-R classes is done from bench, although FT-R has the option of using the prone position. All ammunition must be singly loaded.
* The High Power Rifle, Vintage Military Rifle, and 3×300 Rifle matches are scored using the Shot-Marker electronic scoring system, which displays each shot on a tablet or cellphone screen. Scores are computed automatically by the Shot-Marker system. Shooters have the choice of supplying their own Wi-Fi capable display device or using a Club-supplied tablet.
Bullseye Pistol– Immediately following High Power Rifle match, March through December, 11am.
Match fees- $15 all dates, or $10 if shooter has participated in High Power Rifle / Vintage Military Rifle match held earlier that day. Fee covers both Rimfire Pistol and Centerfire Pistol matches, and any short-range rifle match held afterwards.
Required equipment:
- Rimfire (22LR) and/or Centerfire pistol or revolver capable of rapid fire and efficient reloading.
(black powder/percussion/single-shot excluded)
- 30 rounds of ammunition per match
Optional equipment:
- Spotting scope or binoculars
Course of fire- Bullseye Pistol matches- 25 yards, 3 stages.
- Slow fire- 10 shots for record in 10 minutes.
- Timed fire- 5 shots for record in 20 seconds, twice for a total of 10 shots in 40 seconds.
- Rapid Fire- 5 shots for record in 10 seconds, twice for a total of 10 shots in 20 seconds.
All shooting can be done from either 1-hand or 2-hand hold.
Matches will be conducted in both Rimfire and Centerfire classes.
Note: Sighter shots are not allowed in Pistol matches- shooters should establish a 25-yard zero in advance of match.
