CRPC will hold a members rifle practice at the rifle range on Friday, June 21st, 2019 from 0700AM to 1200PM. Members should be at the gate at 0700AM for check-in. Gate will close at 0730AM. Members must sign the city’s “Release and Waiver of Liability” to use the range. Forms will be provided at the range. Practice will be supervised by RSOs. Additional club RSOs are requested to volunteer to allow everyone some time to shoot. This practice session is for the rifle range only! Shooters must bring their own target stands, targets, and shooting supplies. Bring water!

The meeting will commence at 7PM. This is an important meeting because we will elect a new Secretary to the board to serve through the remainder of this year.
Come early to buy tickets for the 50/50 raffle! Tickets are $1 each, half of the proceeds go to the winner and the other half to support the club. The last of the Club’s T shirts, sweatshirts, and hooded sweatshirts are for sale at a discount as shown below.

This monthly meeting has some heavy lifting for our members; the draft by laws are at 90 percent but need your comments and approval before we can adopt them. You can read the draft and make comments here. There is dissent between the board on a few issues, and we need to clarify a path ahead for the club. Our new use agreement is signed but…we need to talk about next steps on the range and the status of the range. We also need to talk about club activities. We will show off our new website and talk about next steps. Of real importance, we need a discussion on potential vacancies on the Board. We’re going to try a 50/50 raffle suggested by Mary for a mini fundraiser. As you sign in, you can purchase raffle tickets at $1 each. At the end of the meeting, we’ll draw a winning number from the tickets purchased; half will go to the club and half will go to the lucky winner of the raffle. We will also talk about our options for using the city provided meeting space. Our goal is to get the business done in less than an hour, have some pizza and make some money!

2019 Match Schedule
Below is the Carson Rifle and Pistol Match Schedule for the remainder of 2019. These matches will take place on one-half of the rifle range, 10 covered and 10 uncovered shooting positions, 8AM-12PM. Match fees are $10 for one event, $5 for second event per match. Matches are open to the public.
New Use Agreement Approved
The Carson City Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to approve a new interim use agreement between the city and the Carson Rifle and Pistol Club this morning. Under the new agreement, the club will provide the volunteer Range Safety Officers (RSO) required by the city to keep the range open to the public during hours set by the Parks and Recreation Department. In exchange for providing RSOs, the club will get two four hour periods on the rifle range each month for conducting matches, which are also open to the public.
Volunteer RSOs educate range patrons on city established rules and essential safe firearms usage at the range. Read the agreement here.
Additional Range Hours
Starting April 17th the Carson City Rifle and Pistol Range will be open for free public use on Wednesday and Thursday evenings. According to a recent press release from Parks and Recreation: “Starting April 17th the Carson City Rifle and Pistol Range will be open for free public use on Wednesday and Thursday evenings.”
